Senator Grace Poe, the top senator in the 2013 elections, delivered the keynote speech during the 60th Anniversary celebration of the Bohol Chronicle held at the Bohol Tropics Resort on May 16, 2014. The senator thanked the Boholanos for the support during the last elections and reported that the FOI Bill or Freedom of Information Bill, has been passed at the senate. She also congratulated the management and staff of the newspaper for its success in the last six decades where even during the martial law in the 1970’s, the newspaper continued to be published regularly. Bohol Governor Edgar M. Chatto, Tagbilaran City Mayer John Geesnell “Baba” Yap and 3rd district representative Cong. By: Jerome Auza The Bohol Chronicle launched on May 16, 2014 its online digital archive of all front page news since the first issue at www.boholchronicle.net. The launching was part of its 60th anniversary celebration held at the Bohol Tropics Resort, Tagbilaran City. The pioneering newspaper’s longevity was acknowledged as its greatest achievement by the various speakers at the event. The digital archive is another pioneering project in Bohol by Auza.Net and Bohol Chronicle Radio Corporation and was was dubbed during the launch as “Bohol’s ultimate throwback”. The technical team organized by Auza.Net is composed of photographer/videographer Chester Impang, illustrator and graphics editor QB Impang, software developer Jay Paul Aying and the Auza.Net Summer 2014 OJTs or on-the-job trainees.
