HNU graduate bags 9th place in the April 2011 LET

The Professional Regulation Commission has announced the passers for the April 2011 Licensure Examination for Teachers. PRC reports that 5,221 elementary teachers out of 33,023 examinees (15.81%), 35 Accelerated Teacher Education Program (A.T.E.P.) graduates out of 339 examinees (10.32%) and 7,690 secondary teachers out of 29,267 examinees (26.28%) successfully passed the Licensure Examination for Teachers (L.E.T) given last April 3, 2011 in 14 testing centers all over the Philippines and Hong Kong. Vanesa Marie Edulan Baygan of Holy name University has passed the licensure exam and placed 9th on the Top 10 examiners with a score of 83. Baygan took the exam for elementary level teachers. TechTalk: Microsoft buys Skype at $8.5B

Microsoft has announced its acquisition of the popular Internet telephone service Skype Technologies from eBay last Tuesday, May 10. Also acquired were a group of private equity investors including Silicon Valley tech moguls, the Silver Lake Partners. This deal is the largest Microsoft has ever gotten into in its 36-year long history. According to Microsoft’s press release, the deal will extend Skype’s brand and reach of its networked platform, while enhancing Microsoft’s present portfolio of real-time communications products. However, The Daily Ticker’s Aaron Task and Daniel Gross discussed that Skype makes no significant profit. So why did Microsoft spend almost 10 billion dollars for a company that doesn’t improve its revenue? The Daily Ticker’s answer is short.
